SURE uses changed-block tracking and snapshot-like replication to limit the data processed during each backup. ActiveProtect also applies real-time deduplication, identifying duplicate 4 KB blocks so redundant data does not need to be stored repeatedly. In distributed or multi-site environments, its global deduplication capability can reduce data transferred to an off-site backup destination.
