The latest 3CX V20 Update 10 brings AI-powered call transcription to Mac servers and a handy pop-out dialer for the web client—two features that make managing business calls easier, whether you're running your phone system from a Mac or juggling calls from your browser. For Trinidad & Tobago businesses already using 3CX or considering the switch, these updates mean more deployment flexibility and a smoother day-to-day calling experience.

What's new in 3CX V20 Update 10?

This release candidate focuses on practical improvements rather than flashy overhauls. Here's what matters:

AI Call Transcription now works on Mac servers. If your organisation runs 3CX on a Mac (common for smaller setups or businesses already in the Apple ecosystem), you can now use the built-in AI transcription feature. This automatically converts your recorded calls into searchable text—useful for training, compliance, or just remembering what a client actually said last Tuesday.

Pop-out dialer for the web client. The web client now lets you pop the dialer into its own window. It sounds small, but if you're the type who keeps fifteen browser tabs open while working, having the dialer floating separately means you can dial quickly without hunting for the right tab.

More flexibility in IP phone management. The update also improves how you manage custom and vendor-specific IP phone configurations—helpful if your office uses a mix of handsets from different manufacturers.

Why does Mac server support for AI transcription matter?

Not every business wants to run their phone system on Windows or Linux. Some T&T companies—especially creative agencies, architecture firms, or businesses with existing Mac infrastructure—prefer keeping everything Apple. Until now, AI call transcription required a Windows or Linux server. This update removes that limitation.

If you've been holding off on call transcription because of your server setup, that barrier is gone.

How does the pop-out dialer help day-to-day?

Picture this: you're in the middle of updating a proposal in one tab, checking inventory in another, and your CRM is open in a third. A client calls, you need to call them back, but first you have to find the 3CX tab buried somewhere. The pop-out dialer sits in its own window, always accessible. Click, dial, done.

It's a quality-of-life improvement that adds up over dozens of calls a day.

Is this update available now?

V20 Update 10 is currently a Release Candidate (RC), meaning it's in final testing before general availability. If you're running 3CX through Blue Chip Technologies Ltd., we can advise whether it makes sense to update now or wait for the stable release—depending on your setup and how critical your phone system is to daily operations.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need special hardware for AI call transcription?
No. The transcription runs on your existing 3CX server. You'll need adequate processing power, but there's no separate appliance required.

Can I use the pop-out dialer on any browser?
It works on modern browsers that support the 3CX web client—Chrome, Edge, Firefox. If you're using Internet Explorer (and some offices still are), it's time to upgrade.

Will Blue Chip handle the update for us?
Yes. If you're a managed client, we can schedule and apply updates for you. If you manage your own system, we're happy to advise.
