GFI Maintenance Is a Security Control, Not a Renewal Line Item

Security software still needs lifecycle management. A gateway, mail-security platform or patch-management tool cannot protect the business well if the product itself is running an unsupported release.

GFI’s support policy explains that older major versions stop receiving support and maintenance after the latest major release has been available, and recommends staying current for fixes and features. That makes version inventory and maintenance entitlement part of security operations, not just procurement administration.

Blue Chip Technologies should help customers record deployed versions, confirm support status, plan upgrades and test critical policies after each change. Renewal conversations should include the operational question that matters: can this installation still receive the fixes and assistance the business may need during an incident?
