What's Actually Changed?

Before this update, if you wanted to control which outside domains your team could collaborate with in Google Drive, Docs, or other Workspace apps, someone had to log into the Admin console and add or remove domains one by one. Fine if you're dealing with two or three partners. Not so fine if you're an enterprise managing dozens of vendor relationships, or if your compliance requirements mean regular audits and updates.

Now, you can manage that entire list programmatically through an API. That means:

Automated updates – Connect your domain allowlist to your existing onboarding workflows. New approved vendor? Add them automatically.
Bulk operations – Create, delete, list, and retrieve domains without clicking through admin screens.
Easy verification – Use exact-match filtering to quickly check if a specific domain is already on your list.

Rolling out now – Google started the gradual rollout on August 19, 2026, so you should see it within the next couple weeks.
